HAPPY 4TH OF JULY and remember Leave Fireworks To The Professionals

 News and Information

The Long Beach Township Police Department reminds you that the possession of fireworks is illegal and punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment. We will be increasing patrols and

WILL CONFISCATE ALL ILLEGAL FIREWORKS.

The community is encouraged to take advantage of legal public fireworks displays, such as the one scheduled in Beach Haven at the bayside of Taylor Avenue, which will be held the evening of July 4th.

In the past few years, hundreds of people have been treated in New Jersey hospitals for injuries related to and sustained from the use of illegal fireworks. Additionally, our own Long Beach Township community has registered countless complaints against the use of fireworks due to the excessive and alarming noise. And, from the risk of fire to homes, dune grass, fencing and other structures which has been experienced in the past.

We are asking for the community’s cooperation to support a Safety and Quality of Life “ANTI-FIREWORKS” campaign. Hopefully, by education the public on the many hazards of fireworks, and the prohibition of their use, we can create and enjoy a safer and more peaceful July 4th weekend holiday.

The Long Beach Township Police Department looks forward to working with our citizens in creating a safe and enjoyable summer season.
